While we are working, people in Newfoundland and Labrador ...

Some of my friends from Newfoundland and Labrador emailed me to tell me today they don't have to go to work.  Well, Happy St. George's Day, my friends!  Sorry, St. George's Day is not an official national holiday for us outside of Newfoundland and Labrador.  It is a provincial holiday which observed on the Monday nearest 23 April.

Legend has it, St. George slew a dragon and saved a princess.  So, every year on April 23, Google celebrates St. George's Day by re-enacting this legend with a new doodle.  This is last year's.
