100 Happy Days Challenge - Day 28

Found Dr. Bronner’s pure castile liquid soap on sale this week.  A bottle of 472 ml (16 oz) is $9.49. Yeah !  I have been thinking about trying castile soap for a long time.  Many websites talk about how good this soap is.

Castile soap  is eco-friendly.  It can be used as facial cleanser, body washer, shampoo.  Wow!  We can use it to wash our clothes, our dishes and our houses.  Excellent!

So, how long will this 475 ml bottle last?

According to CASTILE SOAP  DILUTION  CHEAT SHEET, we use app. 1/2 cup (120 ml) of castile soap to wash a large load of laundry.  Then, around 4 loads per bottle.  Well, $2.50 per load.  Pricy...

My mum said grandma used to make her own soap.  Time to learn how to make my own castile soap now.

Castile Soap Bar = vegetable oils* + sodium hydroxide
Castile Liquid Soap = vegetable oils +  potassium hydroxide

* palm, coconut, hemp, jojoba, and olive oil

Well, I guess Google search is the way to learn soap making and where to buy sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.

It's late now, I should go to bed.  Have a nice weekend, my friends!
