100 Happy Days Challenge - Day 88

Took advantage of my special offers from PC Plus.  I earned 500 + 38,800 PC points.  Now my total balance is 70,750 points.  That is $70 worth of FREE groceries, my friends.

What's the catch?  I can only use my PC points at Independent, Loblaws, No Frills and Real Canadian Superstore.

Since I paid with my credit card, I earned Air Miles at the same time.  So, I'll get Air Miles Cash for other stores.

I think we will always have opportunities to earn a lot of PC points before any major social events such as Father's Day when people buy lots of groceries to celebrate.  When will be the next time we have chance to earn lots of points?

Shopped at Rexall with my Air Miles Cash and 40 Air Miles' Reward Coupon today.  I can use Air Miles Cash to pay for my purchase and still be able to collect Air Miles with my Air Miles Cash at Rexall.  This is why I prefer to shop there if the price is right.

Not sure if it is only me or not, things at Rexall are more expensive than Shoppers nowadays.  It used to be the other way round.  Goods at Shoppers are cheaper after it was bought by Loblaw Companies Ltd.  May be only the things I usually buy are cheaper?

Redeemed one Shoppers Drug Mart's new personalized coupon.  Shoppers has a new coupon system to have us load our coupons to our Shoppers Optimum cards instead of printing the coupons out.

I was very skeptical at first.  Especially

  1. it is not user-friendly to load the coupons
  2. their system was downed for the whole weekend last week - nobody could log in

So, when I paid for my purchase, I asked the cashier if I need to do anything special to redeem my coupon.  She looked at the monitor and told me the coupon is redeemed.  Sweet!

Yes, go paperless!

Oh, we can still print out the coupons if we choose not to load the coupons to our Optimum cards.

Redeemed 190 Air Miles cash for my shopping today.  Well, I saved $20.00 and earned 1 Air Mile for this transaction.

If I redeem Optimum Points for my purchase at Shoppers Drug Mart, I will only earn Optimum Points for the cash balance I paid not the total amount of my purchase.

So thank you Air Miles and Rexall / Pharma Plus.  Please keep up the great service.

Get 20X Shoppers Optimum Points on Nov 16, 2013

I have a coupon from my friend to receive 400 points for buying eggs.  Let’s see what will be on special in the coming week.  There may be on special items I would buy to get 20X points.  Please don’t worry, I won’t spend unnecessary amount of money to get 20X points.

PC Plus points collectors, good news for you!

Today, one of the cashiers at Independent told me that we could collect PC Plus points there very soon.  She said that it supposed to start at the end of October.  Well, I hope they will start the program from November.  Thank you, Mr. Weston!

Please refer to my blog post about Loblaws’ PC Plus loyalty program.

Loblaws’ PC Plus loyalty program

I used to collect PC point.  But, now, I use my credit card to buy my grocery and collect Air Miles.  With Loblaw’s new loyalty program PC Plus, I can collect both points.  Mr. Weston, thank you.
PC Plus loyalty program

Everyone can join this PC Plus loyalty program.  So if you shop at Loblaws, it doesn’t hurt to join.  Especially we get points tailored to our purchasing habits.  So, we don’t have to buy things we don’t use nor eat.
PC Plus card

We get different offers weekly via email, but, once we redeemed the offer, we can’t get points by buying the same item again.
PC Plus email offers

1,000 points = $1.00 and I collected 2300 points for my Thanksgiving shopping.  When we reach 20,000 points, we can redeem the points for $20.00.  Of course, we can redeem more in increments of $10.00.

Combined her PC points with PC Plus points, my sister already collected over 25,000 points.  Wow!

Well, we can combine our accounts to make the most of the points.  But my sister prefers to have our individual email offers.

On Loblaws’ flyer, I thought after we joined the PC Plus loyalty program, we could get bonus points just for joining.

But, I’m wrong.  I guess many people misunderstood the advertisement like me.  So, Loblaws changed its ad.  You have to buy items with points to get the points.

Unfortunately, this PC Plus loyalty program is not available in all stores of Loblaw Companies.  It would be great if we can also get PC Plus points from Independent, No Frills and T and T Supermarket in Ottawa, Mr. Weston.

To start collecting points, please join PC Plus loyalty program.
