According to my Vietnamese friends, they call it the Year of the Goat. My friends from Hong Kong, they call it the Year of the Sheep. My friends from Taiwan and Midland China, they call it either the Year of the Sheep or the Year of the Goat. My Korean friends call it the Year of the Ram. Even though my Japanese friends don't celebrate Lunar New Year, they call 2015 the Year of the Sheep.
Well,
looks like the coming Lunar New Year is the Year of the Goat / Ram / Sheep by alphabetical
order.
Even
in Canada Post's website, we find this naming confusion for the coming Lunar
New Year. For its stamps, it is the Year
of the Ram. But for its coins, it is the
Year of the Sheep.

guess just pick whatever you want to call the up-coming Lunar New Year and
enjoy the celebration. Or we just learn
how to say the Year of the Goat / Ram / Sheep in Cantonese, Korean, Japanese,
Mandarin and Vietnamese and forget about how we should call it in English.
