Happy Global Pulse Day!
Aren't pulses = legumes?
Why today is not Global Legume Day?

According to Pulse Canada, pulses are part of the legume family. But only dried seed such as dried peas, edible beans, lentils and chickpeas are in the pulse family.
Why pulses are good?
1. Have very high level of protein
and fibre but low in fat
2. Rich in minerals such as iron,
zinc, and phosphorous
3. Have folate and other B-vitamins
I love the fact that I can use pulses
to make gluten-free yummy food. Up-to-now, I have been using rice flour, brown
rice flour, almond flour, oat flour or coconut flour to replace wheat flour. Well, it's
getting boring and I'm open to explore new ingredients.
So, I'm very happy to see we can
download free recipe books from Pulse Canada.
