Happy Lunar New Year! Happy The Year of The Rooster!

January 28, 2017 is the first day of Lunar New Year for Chinese, Koreans and Vietnamese. This is the first day of the Year of the Rooster. But why this year (2017) is the year of the Rooster?

One of my Chinese friends told me each year in the Lunar calendar is named after an animal from the Chinese zodiac. There are 12 different animals in the Chinese zodiac which rotate in a 12-year cycle. Each year a specific zodiac animal is assigned for a specific year. Last year (2016) was the year of the Monkey and next year (2018) will be the year of the Dog.

Yesterday, January 29, I received lucky money in red envelopes!! Yeah, on the second day of the Lunar New Year !

According to my friend, each specific zodiac animal represents special characteristics. Main male character of Love in the Moonlight (KBS, 2016) Park Bo Gum [박보검] was born in June 1993.

January 21 is National Hug Day

Yesterday was National Hug Day aka National Hugging Day. Did you hug your family members or your friends? This day was created by Kevin Zaborney in 1986 to encourage us to hug people around us more.

According to Wikipedia, Kevin chose January 21 as the National Hug Day because it fell between the Christmas and New Year's Holidays and Valentine's Day. Also, it's the time when people are usually blue. I guess this maybe also the reason why the Blue Monday falls on the third Monday of January. Interesting choice of picking January 21, Kevin.

He hopes this National Hug Day will make people feel less embarrassed to show their emotions in public. Do you feel embarrassed to hug in public?

After Eun Tak and Shin returned home, she asks him if he's still angry. Shin bear hugs her and tells her he's worried instead. Then she asks him several questions and he answers every question with a "no". To tease him, she tells him when she starts her university study, she'll wear mini shirts to go on tons of blind dates. Shin yells "NO!" jealously. Eun Tak smiles happily and hugs him back. What a cute hug!

Refers to what happened in the past, she jokes about she can see through his clothes and gives him her coat. Shi Jin complains he's freezing and snuggles up to Mo Yeon. She hugs him. This is a joyful hug!

Inside Yeong's library, she tries to organize his books to prepare for her secret departure. When Yeong doesn't see Ra On around him, she surprises him by hugging him from his back. She asks for his permission to hug him just like that for awhile. He smiles and tells her to stay as is for as long as she wants. With Ra On locks her fingers together around his waist, Yeong puts both of his hands on top of hers. Then he leans his head back into hers. What a heartrending and bittersweet hug!

Even some hugs are heartrending, hugging can make us feel better emotionally and medically. Hugs not only help us build a good immune system, reduce stress, high blood pressure and high heart rate, also it helps us decrease the risk of heart disease.
